UPDATES COMING SOON…!

Is this you?

  • Are you a beginner who wants to jump start your practice ?

  • Have you practiced before but hope to refine the fundamentals in a more customized experience?

  • Are you a seasoned practitioner looking to fine tune your postures (asana) given your unique idiosyncrasies or to further incorporate breathwork (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana)?

  • Are you hoping to learn more about yoga beyond the mat, including yoga philosophy, such as the personal obligations of the yamas and niyamas, or the relationship between practice (abhyasa) and non-attachment (vairagya)?

  • Are you a recently graduated yoga teacher who desires personalized mentorship or who wants to re-commit to your own yoga practice?

Yoga at its most cellular is an individual experience, the teacher serving simply as a guide along the journey of self-care, self-discovery, and well-being. Private lessons might be for you if you’re interested in:

  • Finding a balance between strength and flexibility

  • Refining according to basic alignment principles

  • Exploring breathwork within the context of movement

  • More deeply understanding yoga holistically

  • Integrating the practice within the context of work-life balance

all within a one-on-one experience.

I worked with Catherine in private instruction, and she is an excellent teacher. She explains, demonstrates and breaks down each pose and helps make appropriate adjustments. She is very patient and goes the extra mile to document each session.

Why Private Instruction?

Senior Teacher

I am a senior teacher, having taught for over four years and trained teachers for the past three. I’m a graduate of both foundational (200-hour) and professional (300-hour) teacher training programs and hold an advanced training certification specializing in anatomy for yoga.

Individualized Attention

I’ll work with you to set up your space, including recommending yoga props that I use myself. I’ll use precise cueing, imagery, and other skills to accommodate what you need for quality, safe, and accessible moving, breathing, and being.

Personal Design

Private lessons are personally-designed sessions based on your specific, communicated wants (and often uncovered needs). We’ll spend time together during an initial consultation aligning on goals, objectives, and desired outcomes. I’ll meet you where you are—on your own journey of yoga, self-care, and well-being.

Accountability

Yoga, self-care, and well-being are practices for life. They aren’t restricted to just our mats or cushions. I’ll provide you with tools, resources, and suggestions for your building a practice outside of your private sessions, group classes, and mat itself.

At Your Convenience

I offer private lessons online via Zoom and in-person. Together, we’ll find a date and time each week that works for you as a way to build consistency and routine. And while I don’t recommend it, I do allow for rescheduling with at least 24 hours advanced notice, as I know life happens.

Additional Outcomes

With time, you’ll improve your strength, flexibility, and stamina of your body, breath, and mind. And hopefully over time, you’ll find yourself feeling more fulfilled and joyful (and less stressed and anxious). If nothing else, you’ll learn a thing or two, and we’ll have fun!

Please note: private lessons are not substitutes for care provided by medical professionals, such as doctors, physical therapists, or mental health therapists. The services offered by these professionals are beyond the scope of practice of any yoga teacher unless also credentialed in these fields.

Like what I’m building here on Move. Breathe. Be.?

Consider buying me a cup of coffee on the MBB Ko-fi (read: coffee) page (get it?). While I’d love to see you in a yoga class or coaching session soon, I know you might prefer to engage with the community by way of cozying up with a cup of joe and my blog posts each week. I’m deeply touched that my musings impact you and hope to provide even more content in the near future!
