Hi, I’m Catherine, founder of Move. Breathe. Be.

Thank you for stopping by and learning more about me. Most importantly, thank you for stopping in and learning more about yourself.

Move. Breathe. Be. is ultimately about you and your self-care and well-being. I’m simply a guide along your journey. Hopefully, I’ll be an important part,—but it’s not about me; it’s about you!

What’s there to know about me?

I love to help people. I always have.

I haven’t always helped myself, though. Despite knowing deep down that I’m intelligent, hardworking, and accomplished—for most of my life, I never felt “enough”. In fact, this “not enoughness” often was the driver behind my work ethic and achievements for as long as I can remember. I felt this constant urge to prove myself…over and over and over again.

For years, I bought into the “supposed to…” or “should…” mentality.

I didn’t want to fail. And so…I tried.

I did it all.

And in many ways, I succeeded—in most except those that mattered.

I became angry. At first, I didn’t have the words for why. I just knew that I was. In fact, that’s how I first entered therapy—late one night while working late, I had had enough and Googled “anger management”, emailing who then became my first therapist for my remaining three years in NYC.

My self-care and well-being journey has taken me to a better place. I’ve nurtured it over the years, first through 20+ years of yoga practice, then with almost 10 years in therapy, most recently in the last 2 years via coaching. It’s been the most valuable (and hardest) work in my life…and I’m convinced when I look back that it will be the bearer of my greatest accomplishments.

Does this sound familiar?

I realized I wasn’t fulfilled and was acting out my frustration.

I wish I could say I took action on my own. But I didn’t. I waited for the situation, context, and circumstances to turn me upside down before I finally was forced into motion.

I knew I was courageous. I was just stuck! And when I attempted action, I found myself in a swirl. All of this was conditioning picked up along the journey of life; all of it helped construct the identity that I so tightly held onto (those “supposed to…”s or “shoulds…”).

It’s been my journey over the years. My building a relationship with myself, this journey of self-help, has taken me to a better place.

If you are not in alignment with the moment, life is a struggle. Really, all you have to do is take responsibility for your inner alignment with now.

There’s Other Stuff, Too

I also dabble in artistic crafts like photography, voiceovers, and improv. And I have a whole other professional career (learn more about that here).

I am happiest when I’m teaching or practicing yoga, going on a hike, exploring a new city, attending a sporting event, or writing in my journal, all with my camera in tow to capture the moment.

Like what I’m building here on Move. Breathe. Be.?

Consider buying me a cup of coffee on the MBB Ko-fi (read: coffee) page (get it?). While I’d love to see you in a yoga class or coaching session soon, I know you might prefer to engage with the community by way of cozying up with a cup of joe and my blog posts each week. I’m deeply touched that my musings impact you and hope to provide even more content in the near future!
